(Houston, TX – July 31, 2007)
Multiple projects — including a line of luxury homes, a recreation center, a shopping center and an elementary school.— are now under construction in Fall Creek, a 2,000-acre master-planned golf course community in Humble, Texas.
“These new developments will help accommodate the needs of the growing number of Fall Creek residents and future residents for homes, recreation, shopping and education,” said Steve Pierce, general manager of Fall Creek.
Huntington Homes, Westport Homes and Partners in Building have initiated Fall Creek’s new luxury product, with homes on 90-foot by 125-foot homesites priced from $500,000 to more than $800,000. Construction began in Fall Creek’s Rose Creek Village in early 2007. The first homes are nearing completion and residents will begin moving into them this summer.
Move-up buyers are driving the demand for the new luxury homes, which are typically smaller than the community’s custom home product featured in Serrano Creek, a neighborhood of homes priced from $700,000 on one-fourth- to one-half-acre properties, many on lakes or the golf course.
Option 1 Realty recently purchased 10 acres from Fall Creek for the construction of a 99,000-square-foot retail shopping center to be named Fall Creek Plaza. Leasing has commenced, although no tenants have been announced. Construction on the center will begin in late 2007, and it will be open for business in early 2008. Tenants have not yet been announced.
To handle the influx of new residents in Fall Creek, a second recreation center is being built. It is scheduled to open in August 2007 and includes a 25-meter pool with submerged shelves for sun bathing, a separate Jacuzzi and a cabana.
“This will be an additional recreational amenity,” Pierce said. “Fall Creek already has one of the largest private water parks in Houston, as well as the 36-hole Redstone Golf Club, parks, tennis courts and more than three miles of green belts and trails.”
Fall Creek children will be toting their schoolbooks to a new school in the fall of 2008. Gamma Construction Company has begun work on a Humble Independent School District elementary school that will be located in Fall Creek. The $11 million school will accommodate 750 students. Elementary school students currently attend Summerwood Elementary School. Older students attend Atascocita Middle School and Atascocita High School.
Fall Creek, the only master-planned golf course community within Beltway 8, has quickly established itself as one of Houston’s most attractive and centrally located communities. Only 15 miles from downtown Houston and eight miles from Bush Intercontinental Airport, the community, a project of The Johnson Development Corp. and Jefferson Development, offers a wealth of amenities in a heavily wooded environment. Since opening in northeast Houston in 2002, Fall Creek has grown to 1,200 homes. When complete, it will include 2,100 homes.
The Johnson Development Corp. is a residential and commercial land development company involved in numerous projects including master-planned communities such as Sienna Plantation, Fall Creek, Riverstone, Woodforest, Tuscan Lakes, Edgewater, Berkshire and Silverlake in Houston, and Towne Lake, BridgeMill and Lake Arrowhead in Atlanta.
